Description
The memorial brings attention to captain Hiram L. Thompson, commercial fisherman and vice-president, Cape May County Fishermen's Memorial, Inc. He is remembered for this effort by a flagstaff, which looks out onto the defending waters of Cape May harbor, and by its associated dedication writing. He worked on the fisherman’s project for years, and his memorial is situated in the midst of the fishermen’s monument site, at Baltimore and Missouri Avenues. He passed away just prior to the establishment of the Fishermen's Memorial.
