Description
The memorial recalls the distinguished conduct of a Medal of Honor recipient -- a 29-year, U.S. Navy Chief Boatswain -- killed at Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. An oblong-shaped stone with plaque attached containing dedicatory and other background text, the work is situated along a walkway, part of the Washington Street Mall, a center of commerce in Cape May.
