Comments and Notes
DESIGN: Fabricator -- Under Consideration. "Built in a Canadian factory in Quebec province (the work) was reassembled on site in downtown New York." Sculpture, October, 2001. Seeking to determine the "factory."
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT: Dedication -- Registry uses October 12, 2000, Columbus Day, the offical date of the unveiling. Artist disagreed with this date; one week later, he and other African Americans carried out their own unveiling.
