Comments and Notes
TITLE ALTERNATIVE: The New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial
DESIGN DESCRIPTION: Geometric -- The design is frequently referred to as a wall.
DESIGNERS: Others -- John Ferrandino, M. Paul Friedberg & Associates
SETTING: Park -- formerly known as Jeanette Park
DEVELOPMENT: Dedication -- Some sources show the date as 5/6/1985, some 5/7/1985. It is both. The former was a private unveiling at night by the mayor with fireworks and a limited attendance due to site condstraints; the latter was a very public canyon of heroes, ticker-tape parade up lower Broadway.
SITE MAINTENANCE: Business/Commerce -- Alliance for Downtown New York
CODE-5-Manhattan
