THE STORY: Battle (victory|defeat) -- Battle of Fort Ticonderoga; May 10, 1755
MILITARY CONFLICTS: Colonial Wars – French and Indian War (1754-1763)
DESIGN: Inscription -- Accepting that the plaque's preservation is failing and/or the quality of the image in the database is marginal: In the lower portion of the oval, to the British Captain Delaplace's question, by whose authority shall the fort (Ticonderoga) be handed over is engraved, in all Caps, Allen's response: "In the name of the great Jehovah & the Continential Congress."
