Description
A 19th century sentinel on a hillside in a local cemetery, this granite
piece by an as-now unknown sculptor stands watch on behalf of a community for
its departed. Sponsored by a local membership group, the statue commemorates
sailors and soldiers from the area killed in the Civil War.
