Description
The community of Somers, New York, remembers its loss as a result of 9/11 with this memorial. It recalls in particular several local citizens who perished. The stone-with-plaque work, which effort is complemented by several near-by and named benches and with a colorful stone dedicatory piece from a local youth troop, rests peacefully in a community park where U.S. route 202 meets local 100. The memorial was sponsored by the town as well as one of its community groups, and it was dedicated September 11, 2002.
